And now for something a bit more traditional in flavor. This weeks pattern got it’s start in American Patchwork & Quilting WAY back when. If you like triangles or rather if you like the way they look this is the pattern for you. This quilt is pieced traditionally and is 72″ x 72″ in shades of green, taupe and burgundy. The border on this quilt is also a nice way to frame a traditional quilt. The background fabric is a taupe subtle swirl fabric which is not often a traditional choice. The backing to this quilt is an olive green woven plaid for a real cozy feeling.
This pattern is available in our shop as an e-mailable PDF pattern.
This mini version was in a miniature quilt auction at one of the quilt guilds we visited. I had to have it! I bid high enough and it graces my coffee table in my living room now! Karen was the maker of this quilt and has so generously shared the EQ file for her design.
If you are an EQ user you can go to the tab that says U EQ 2? There we will be posting some EQ files for you to use and play with. These files will also have special fabrics in them too, that you can use in other projects. This particular file has some of our Bohemian Rhapsody fabrics in it! BUT you must have EQ to download these files! You can visit EQ to purchase your own quilt design program. You will also notice that we have included Baby Manhattan as an EQ file as well – Enjoy!!
If you have made a Oklahoma Twister quilt (quilted or not) please send your photos to me and you will receive a free PDF pattern! (valid only until May 6)
